1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Whiskies & Brews ("the app", "the platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What Whiskies & Brews Is

Whiskies & Brews is a community platform for tracking and sharing visits to distilleries, breweries, wineries, cideries, pubs and similar establishments. Users can log visits, upload photos, write notes, rate locations and browse a community map of visited locations.

3. Eligibility

You must be of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction to use this app. In Alberta, Canada this is 18 years of age. By creating an account you confirm you meet the legal drinking age requirement in your region.

4. User Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• You may not create accounts for the purpose of abusing the platform or impersonating others
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

5. Community Guidelines — What Is Allowed

Whiskies & Brews is built around a shared passion for craft beverages and the places that make them. We encourage:

• Honest reviews and ratings of distilleries, breweries, wineries, cideries and pubs
• Authentic photos from your visits
• Constructive notes and observations about your experiences
• Respectful interaction with other community members
• Accurate location information for entries you add

6. Community Guidelines — What Is NOT Allowed

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and potential account suspension or permanent ban:

7. Content Ownership & License

• You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, notes, reviews)
• By uploading content you grant Whiskies & Brews a non-exclusive license to display that content within the platform
• You confirm you have the right to upload any content you post (e.g. you took the photos yourself)
• We do not sell your content to third parties

8. Admin Rights & Moderation

• The platform administrator reserves the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines
• The administrator reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts for violations
• The administrator's decisions on content moderation are final
• Users can report inappropriate content or entries using the Contact Admin feature in the app

9. Verified Visits

• Location verification is optional and voluntary
• Verified Visit markers indicate the user confirmed their GPS location matched the entry at time of logging
• We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any entries, verified or otherwise
• Users are expected to add entries in good faith

10. Disclaimer

• Whiskies & Brews is a community platform and does not endorse or recommend any specific establishment
• Ratings and reviews reflect individual user opinions only
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of information about third party establishments
• Please drink responsibly

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
